Investments

The course builds practical knowledge of investing concepts and strategies that can greatly increase profitable investment decisions and build wealth in the financial markets. Topics include investment objectives, insightful sources of investment information, risk and return, market history lessons, diversification, asset allocation, the stock market, market mechanics, stock valuation, cheap and expensive stocks, different types of stock orders and investment accounts, market trends, learning from investing legends, the psychology of investing (behavioural finance) , mutual finds, ETF’s, options, and covered-call writing. Students learn how to synthesize these concepts and actions in order to earn returns based on investment objectives and risk tolerance. Stock market simulation is used to practice and test investing skills.

Students registering for credit courses for the first time must declare a program at the point of registration. Declaring a program does not necessarily mean students must complete a program, individual courses may be taken for skill improvement and upgrading.
